I had the special privilege of watching The Misanthrope tonight at Novello on Panton Street. Damian Lewis was faultless and his comfort on stage must be a great resource for the rest of the cast. Onto the subject of mass hysteria: Keira Knightly. Her performance was a solid debut. Although her lines felt a little rehearsed at times, I would put it down to stage newbie nerves. And in what's becoming 'classic Knightly', this role also provided a wonderful platform in which to showcase and model divine costumes. Her dress in the last scene alone is worth buying a front row ticket, just exquisite.
